Reflecting on Arusha’s NGO Forum – Where Sustainability Takes Shape
Hello, friends and change makers!
On Friday, June 20, 2025 Thrive Global Project had the privilege of joining the Regional NGO Forum at our Arusha Regional Office, the event was graced by the Arusha Regional Commissioner Hon. Paul Makonda . The forum, hosted by the wonderful team from NACONgo Arusha, centered on a powerful theme: sustainably continuing projects long after the funding ends. While the dialogue matters is that we all know how hard it is to secure funding -but real impact lies in lasting change, not just dollars. Here’s what resonated most during the event:
- Partnerships with purpose: We explored how NGOs can collaborate – across sectors and regions – to amplify impact and drive positive change together.
- Transparency as a foundation: Clear reporting and openness build trust with donors and communities alike.
- Legal compliance & data protection: In an age where privacy and intellectual property are increasingly critical, we dove into why safeguarding data and respecting copyrights isn’t just ethical- it’s essential.
- Designing for the future: Sustainability isn’t an afterthought -it must be baked into every project from day one, ensuring communities can carry forward the work
Events like this aren’t just checkboxes – they’re catalysts. They remind us:
- To measure impact, not just activity
- To collaborate strategically, rather than duplicating efforts
- To keep ethics and compliance front-of-mind, even in grassroots work
Huge thanks to NACONgo Arusha for the thoughtful organization and to everyone who joined the conversation. Thrive Global Project is more committed than ever to championing projects that endure, evolve, and empower – even when funding fades.
